Your account generates several kinds of automated email. They look similar in a busy inbox, which is why renewal notices get skimmed and invoices get missed. Here is what each one is and whether it needs you to do anything.
Needs action
Invoice Created
An invoice has been generated, usually in advance of a renewal date. If automatic payment is enabled and your stored card is valid, this will settle itself and you can ignore it. If not, this is a bill to pay.
Invoice Payment Reminder
The invoice is still unpaid and the due date is near or passed. This one always needs attention. Unpaid invoices are the single most common reason a working service stops working.
Credit Card Payment Failed
The stored card was declined. Expiry, a bank fraud hold and an address mismatch are the usual causes. Update the payment method in the Billing section rather than waiting for a retry.
Support Ticket Reply
We have responded and, in most cases, are waiting on you. A ticket sitting in Answered status is not being worked on, because we believe the next move is yours.
Informational
Order Confirmation
Confirms what you ordered. Worth keeping, but no action required.
Service Welcome Email
Sent when a product is provisioned. Frequently contains login details, server names or connection settings that appear nowhere else. Save it, or copy the details into your password manager, then delete it. Credentials should not live in an inbox indefinitely.
Domain Renewal Notice
Advance warning that a domain is approaching expiry. If the domain is set to renew automatically and the payment method is valid, no action is needed — but read the article on domain expiry timelines before ignoring one of these.
Emails we will never send
We will not email you asking for your password, and we will not send a link that asks you to "verify your account" by entering your existing credentials. If a message asks for either, treat it as fraudulent and see the article on recognising phishing.
If you think you missed one
Every message the system sends is recorded under Email History in your account menu. Check there before assuming it was never sent. If it was sent but never arrived, the problem is on the mail delivery side and we can help you work out where it stopped.
